“I've been in restaurant business my whole life. My grandfather started his restaurant seventy years ago in central London which he passed to my parents. Inevitably it wasn't long before I got into the family business. But my vision was bigger than just managing a restaurant. I wanted to expand the business to more restaurants. So early in 2010 I expanded the business into a second restaurant and now we manage three restaurants.
I've always been interested in technology so when the opportunity presented itself with QuiQi I didn't take long to implement it. My goal was not to increase profitability since all three restaurants were quite profitable and I also did not expect that such a seemingly simple application would help in this area. I was more interested in applying a novelty to my restaurants for personal satisfaction. At no time did I think that this would have any impression on my business.
You can understand how surprised I was when just after a couple of months analysing the accounting numbers of my business, I had a significant growth in revenue. It took me some time to realize that this difference was due to QuiQi. Plus, my waiters now have time to develop closer relationships with customers. Customers are more pleased with the fast service and although the average time they spend in my restaurants has decreased, the follow-up orders have increased greatly”.
